What's the first thing you think of?
"Just follow the swinging pendulum.
That's right. You're getting sleepy..."
The second thing is probably...
"Oh, hell no,
I'm not going on stage, be turned
into a clucking chicken, and
not remember it!"
Well, this ain't that kind of Hypnosis...

HYPNOtherapy

GOING INTO TRANCE IS NORMAL

Have you ever zoned out while watching TV?  Or not remembered parts of the road as you drove from one place to another?  Or fallen in love?  These are all states where you drop out of your conscious mind into the subconscious, entering a certain level of hypnosis or trance.

Hypnosis is a natural state of mind that can produce extraordinary levels of relaxation of mind, body and emotion.  Hypnosis can transcend the critical, analytical level of mind, and facilitate the acceptance of desired suggestions, directions, and instructions.  The therapeutic use of hypnosis can also elicit information and insight from the inner mind. Utilizing interview, discussion, and hypnotic methods, the underlying issues, memories and trauma can be accessed to be healed.

Accessing the subconscious mind can be as easy as tasting an imaginary lemon!

Take a moment and picture a lemon in front of you.  Imagine picking it up.  Your conscious mind might note the color, dimensions, length to width ratio, and the weight as you pick it up.

The subconscious mind will feel the lemon's texture against your finger tips, smell its fragrance, and sense your salivary glands activate. This part of your mind can imagine biting into the lemon, feel the juice in your mouth, or experience your face scrunch up because it is so sour! These sensations are all stored in your subconscious mind.

HARD-WIRED TO SURVIVE!

Our habits, behaviors, and responses are hard-wired in our brain through repetitive pattern, much like how a path through a field becomes worn as it is walked on over and over.  This "wiring" is strengthened or fortified when our experiences are deeply emotional, both good or bad.  Just think of the first time you fell in love or, in contrast, a time when you were really hurt.  As you conjure one of these events, a memory will surface, you will then experience the attached emotional state you were in when it happened, which triggers thoughts of similar emotional experiences.  You may even notice the story you tell yourself that helps you to make sense of it all.  This process happens in a blink of an eye or as quickly as you salivate imagining the sour taste of a lemon.

Experiencing trauma ignites our core desire to survive and we respond automatically. Fight, flight, freeze...

Our body records sights, sounds, smells, tastes, textures.  We HARD-WIRE memory, emotions, thoughts, behaviors, responses, and stories consciously and unconsciously.  This is a good thing.  It's meant to keep us alive.  Simply put, it keeps us from burning our hand on the hot stove a second time.

The strategies we employ to protect ourselves are truly brilliant. This is a good thing.

YOU SURVIVED!!

The challenge is we tend to look for the same sign posts that tell us we are in danger.  Or we deploy the same protections strategies, often times unnecessarily, to situations that are not a challenge to our survival.  They worked once, so why not keep using them??  These "go-to" survival strategies can easily become maladaptive behaviors and the very thing that keeps us from truly thriving.

Charles' Story

Charles came into the office complaining about a pain in his low back that he could not get rid of.  He had seen his doctor, chiropractor, massage therapist, pain specialist, acupuncturist, you get the idea.

He went easily into trance and 'traveled' to the place in his back where the pain was located.  As soon as he asked what the pain was about, he saw himself as a 6-yeard old boy being beat with the buckle end of his father's belt.  He knew if he cried, his dad would get angrier and would beat him longer.  He took a deep breath and held it until his dad was done.  He locked this pain into his body in the exact spot the buckle hit.

In this scene, his adult self intervened and stood up to this brutal father and rescued himself as a little boy.  As a young boy, this is what he had always wished for, someone to rescue him.  He came out of trance, stretched, moved around a bit, and the pain was gone!

Consciously, this is not logical.  Space... Time... Matter... It makes no sense!

Sub-consciously, Charles was able to rewrite the story of this beating with a different ending, one that supported him emotionally, physically, mentally.

And here's the difference

What happens in life writes a story in our flesh.

Unlike other hypnosis techniques, Alchemical Hypnotherapy reaches deep into the subconscious to heal the roots of trauma.

Memory is a function of what we give our attention to.  Rewriting the story within the subconscious mind provides a different focus for our attention, and therefore, rewires our brain.

CHANGE YOUR STORY, CHANGE YOUR LIFE!
